Dominic Naimool is part of a new generation of lawyer-developers. He combines a lawyer's training and theoretical grounding with technical expertise built by doing the work. He regularly takes on high-stakes wicked problems for risk-averse, heavily regulated businesses such as Canadian financial institutions and law firms. He advises clients on privacy, governance, and regulatory compliance, and on the systems that put them into practice.

Dominic does not advise on technology from a distance. He can design and run the systems his advice applies to, and he reads the statute with those systems in mind. The advice holds up on paper and in production. His work also extends to enterprise architecture, data strategy, policy drafting, vendor contract negotiation, forensic accounting, and mediation.

Approach
Wicked problems have no clean answer, so the first job is to define the problem accurately. Dominic starts with how the organization actually runs: its systems, its data, its people, and the obligations that bear on each. He then builds the solution where the problem lives, so the control sits inside the process and not in a document beside it.
He keeps governance lean. Responsibility is clear, the language is plain, and the process goes no further than the law requires. Synomos is a small firm, so the person you brief is the person who does the work.
